World Mobile Kitchen
This quick but interesting project was developed right after Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico. The conceptual designs were developed as consulting for PRISA GROUP. The design was made for World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit organization founded by renowned chef Jose Andres. This organization attends food shortage problems after natural disasters. It tackled this need in several spots in Puerto Rico after the hurricane.

The intention with the project is to have readily available mobile kitchens that can rest in ports and be moved near disaster zones when needed.

The design is composed of an assembly of heavily equipped shipping containers that program kitchen, bathroom and services covered by a collapsible tensile structure that covers the food delivery area. Cars and delivery trucks carry food to more inaccessible areas.
A parametric approach was used to design the collapsible roof which can be stored inside one of the containers.
